Default DIGI - feature request!

Digi, is it at all possible to program a keyboard shortcut that closes an audio-suite plug in window? It seems like this would be easy to do, and it's something I think a lot us would use all the time...

Thanks!

Hello. While I agree that it would be great if Digidesign came up with one, you may have a solution before. You may be able to program a Quick Keys shortcut or maybe even an Apple Script. Before Digidesign came up with their own shortcut for Bounce to Disk it was possible to create a custom one for it with either Quick Keys, Apple Script or custom keyboard shortcuts. Good luck.

oooh. I love these threads.

new stuff I'd like:

-handles on audiosuite
-multiple audiosuite windows
-keystroke for reverse
-make markers groupable with tracks (so that they can be useful)
-a big awesome channel strip with compression, eq, gating, and trim that is snapshot automatable (with a dedicated snapshot interface)
-import colors with the session file import
-a consolidate media function that gathers all media into the appropriate folders inside the session folder and points the session to those files (a sort of self-contained "save session as" feature)
-a more powerful file-renaming utility a la r-name

also, thanks for:

-solo keystroke
-multiple lanes of automation
-10 inserts
-region groups
-color pallette

Thought I'd throw in a couple ideas that have been bugging me forever:

1:Folders in the regions bins
2:Making the multiple file/region delete much less painless. Create a window with columns for what remains in the session etc.. instead of the gaggle of dialog boxes asking if you want to actually delete each file. You could just have check boxes for what gets canned. I don't know how much time that thing takes from my life having to read each dialog to be certain!

Ben asking since PT5, but here goes again...

Folders in bin
Unlink Edit and Mix windows, so you can view different tracks in different windows

Just searched for a way to close AS windows via a key command and wound up here.
I can confirm that command+option+control+w does indeed work for closing audiosuite windows.

Thanks for the good tip!

I´m not trying to poop on the bins request or anything, but when I had folders in Nuendo I spent alot of time organizing audio without it really helping me much.

I think I would have gotten more and better stuff done by hitting the sfx archive and searching for new sounds than looking the t.ex. the same bullet impact again.

What problems are you trying to solve with bins? Sure the regionlist is messy, but why not just search for whatever you need? (shift - apple - f)

As I said I´m not trying to start a war here, I just don´t see the need for bins. But if you do I would like to know how it would help you. Maybe there is some tricks I could learn. (Or (I suppose) wish I could use since we after all don´t have bins...)

Bins would help with management when doing unusual things or sharing the projects.
