Easy boys...put the rocks down. I know EvilElfBoy. He's not one of those Mac TDM bigots.

As far as Record and Studio One, it's a bit early for us to start any real commotion yet. We know that Record will rewire slave to PT, so that is huge!
I'm absolutely sold on the S1 Browser. For those of us who chant "work flow", PT needs to steal it.

Studio One we know will have rewire support, but we don't know if it will slave yet. (Shane, do you know about this?)
That one I don't know. If it does slave and master, some of us will have some pretty crazy routing going on.

another benefit is simply being able to run a lot of vi's that don't have rtas versions at all. the vst/rtas wrapper doesn't seem to play ball with instruments.

'originally posted by shan' you also have the benefit of blazing fast MIDI to audio rendering that you can just drag & drop into PT.

MIDI to audio rendering means you don't have to print your VI's in realtime and mess around wasting time routing stuff everywhere to do so. One shortcut key invoked will render your MIDI VI track to audio in mere seconds.

Watch and learn.

I just downloaded REAPER 3.0 for mac! Whoa, It's quite different then it was just a few weeks ago. Those cockos boys are really making some moves over there. I just wish the prefs were a little less cryptic. Looking very nice though!

3.0 was released a few days ago but wait, their already at 3.01 with more features than we'll ever see in 10 PT releases combined.

I had some more hands on with Record. The routing in this thing can get very deep and is just insane. Pretty impressive just on the routing alone. I have a few ideas for getting VST going in it that I'll have to try. Looks like we can use outboard also. This will be a great additional tool for PT. Speaking of outboard and moving fast, the Studio One boys just added hardware inserts with full ADC. Now I just have to route all this into one massive DAW.

the fresh code is gonna make it hard as hell to hang. Studio One...outta the box will have...ADC, hardware ADC, Unlimited audio tracks, MIDI tracks, virtual instruments, buses, and FX channels, drag and drop, etc...the list is long . as much as most of us love PT, some things will have to change....no doubt!!

Sorry but reaper for 60.00 is just a stupid slap in the face come get me crazy fool deal!

Digi is simply a victim of their success, this PT industry standard dogma is not valid anymore.

Wake - up guys!!!!

Oh and for you people that talk about legacy compatibility - render your tracks, dry, wet, and with the effect independent of the audio see how laborious it is.

!!! This is the only way to force and maintain legacy compatibility !!!

Do you know how easy this is in REAPER!!!

Oops digi PT does not have offline bounce, gee that is gonna take so long.

It has taken them forever to accept that TDM needs to be taken behind the barn.
