Plug ins not saving
Hi guys
I recently upgraded my system to a new mac running PT 2020.5. Having some strange issues. In particular. Some plug ins are not saving when I adjust a preset and try to save it. Seems to be mostly happening to instrument plugs as far as I can tell. Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution?

Re: Plug ins not saving
Maybe a little bit more information about your config, and which plugins in particular you have problems... are the plugins updated to latest version, etc...

Re: Plug ins not saving
Hi
Sorry, I thought it might have been a common problem. Well Kontakt is one. I'd make a preset in Prism that seemed to save but when I came back to the project a different preset was in its place. Then I'd change it back, press play and the other preset would play instead of mine. LOOM (synth), I'd adjust a preset to taste. Press play and the original would be back. They are all the latest versions.

Some questions: How are you saving the preset - using Kontakt's save? I'd not rely on PT saving the preset but instead use the plugin's save mechanism to do so. From the sound of it I'm guessing you're using an instrument track to hold the vi and the MIDI. Make sure there are no unintended patch change events in the MIDI. Use the MIDI event list to check for that. |

Re: Plug ins not saving
Thanks Jack
Yes I am using the plug in's save. Then saving the session. Yes I'm using an instrument track to hold the vi and the MIDI. Ive opened the MIDI event list but dont see anything untoward there but I must admit Im not sure what Im looking for.

Re: Plug ins not saving
Google for a list of MIDI events - they're called CC's or continuous controllers and that will tell you what things mean. That and reading the PT reference guide aka The Manual.

Re: Plug ins not saving
Some of my Wave Arts plugins do that on Win 10/PT 2020.3. Close the gui, reopen, it’s gone back to “default.” Odd.
