The Mbox 3 is a very, very low powered device. Worrying about this is silly.
He's not worried about wasting power/money, he's wondering if it's ok for the mbox itself to be permanently on. Different thing.

Yes. That was understood. And it doesn't matter.

It's a very low power device. Keeping it "energized" isn't doing anything to it when not in use. What is everyone expecting happens when a device that pulls 500mA max does when just sitting there that is doing damage? Minuscule preamp output gain of no signal?

Have had mbox(1), mbox 2, and mbox 3 models plugged in for years and years over the many years those models have come out. Constantly just sitting there. Where they are prone to damage is traveling with them and the knobs/pots can go bad (oxidation.) Neither issues have anything to do with keeping them plugged in. There's an mbox 3 right now continuously on for 6 years now that just runs itunes/system sounds out of an HDX rig into a monitor controller. Still doing its thing.

Fair enough, good to know.. Maybe I shouldn't be so worried as I am about turning stuff off.. Cheers
