Pt 11.1 will not load past splash screen

Hi Guys

I am running OSX Mavericks 10.9.1 and Pro Tools 11.1.0

Was using PT11.1.0 first thing this morning running fine then quite out and loaded logic Pro X for a while.

Now when I try and load PT 11 it will not load past the Splash screen it will scan all plugins etc No error messages but then the screen just vanishes

CMD+Tab shows it it not in the background running

I have trashed preferences = no luck

Install over the top = no luck

Used carbon copy clone and booted from my clone and now Pro Tools 11.1.0 wont even work on that just the same issue.

Tried unplugged all devices apart from interface + iLok , Keyboard and mouse but no luck.

Tried a second interface still no luck.

I am out of ideas and cant understand why even my clone that was fine from over a week ago will now not boot Pro Tools.

Hi,

Just a quick thought for now,

try trashing com.apple.audiomidisetup.plist and the com.apple.audiomidisetup.plist

user / library / prefs

repair disk permission and reboot before loading PT again.

also try load hold N key to load without an audio engine assigned then in playback engine settings try selecting your interface!

also try hold shift whilst booting PT to load without plugins! just in case one is playing funky!!

I have tried what you have said but unfortunately still no luck.

I have just had a email from Avid requesting I download 11.1.1 and uninstall 11.1.0

I am downloading and will report back.

Hi

You are on Mac so no unistall needed. Avid says just drag the new installer into Application folder and choose "replace" when promted.

They did say to

Move the following files to the trash to manually remove Pro Tools 11 completely from a Macintosh systems:

Mac HD/Applications/"Pro Tools"
Mac HD/Library/Audio/"MIDI Patch Names"
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/"Rex"
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/"Audio"

I should have also said I only started using Mac a few weeks ago so it is a little new to me.

Fingers crossed that I have no issue with 11.1.1

I just cant get my head around how it could work fine for weeks then just fall over like that.

With it not even booting on my clone that I know was ok is really making me confused.

We never moved any of those files to the trash so maybe just don't do that and just do the Replace and see if that works better. We have updated PT11HD 4 times now and only used the replace function. Never had any issues what so ever.

What you posted is If You wanna delete PT11 from your Mac but you are updating now and maybe don't do that, just replace when prompted as I think that will work better. You aren't unistalling, just updating.

sorry by the time I had posted that I had already done what they asked.

I have 11.1.1 on the system now but still the same issue once the splash screen finishes Pro Tools will not load no error etc

cmd+tab is showing only the finder open.

Whats your setup exactly? Interface, ram harddrives etc?

As much info as possible so we can try and troubleshoot

How did you get Mavericks? did you update from another OS or a fresh install? i think a fresh install is needed!!
