Default Roland 1880 and 002 Rack syncing (revisited)

Anyone had success in linking these two components. I have in the past, but cannot remember how I set it up.
I want the Roland 1880 (Master) to control the 002 Rack, then in turn controls my MPC 2000, using Midi Beat Clock.

or

002 Rack (Master), controlling Roland 1880, which controls the MPC 2000.

I've played with it in many forms...got the MPC to control 002 Rack, but was off sync by a couple of seconds.

thanks
Ruzzo
