Default Upgrade from PT 6.7 on G.4 to PT 9 on new imac

Hi,

I'm running PT 6.7 on a G4 on OS X.3.9 with a DIGI002. It's a 5 year old system and time I upgraded.

I've just ordered the entry level imac and want to run PT 9 on it. So some questions.....

1. Am I able to use the 'crossgrade' pack to upgrade or do I have to buy the full version of PT9 from new? If I can crossgrade, what are the steps to do this?

2. Will PT 9 run on 10.6.5? I've heard there are some problems with it not being qualified for that version of the OS. If so, what do I do to work around this?

3. Do I need to find drivers to install for my DIGI002 on the new imac or will it plug and play?

4. Will PT 6.7 sessions automatically work in PT 9?

5. Are there any pitfalls I should worry about?

Thanks very much in advance of your replies.

Pete

Hi,

All you need to upgrade is your hardware serial number! once you have registered PT9 in your avid account you'll have access to the full download.

PT9 runs on 10.6.5 but has not been qualified!!!

you'll need to download the drivers for your interface

check the FAQ for everything is there..

Thanks. That's really helpful! Was worrying that it'd cost another few hundred quid to get going with it all.

Cheers,
Pete
