Trimming off unwanted time at the end of a track

I am bouncing down mixes and Ive noticed at the end of my track, there is unwanted time at the end of the track creating a long silence. For instance, if I end a track at 3 minutes and 35 seconds, there is an extra 6 to 8 seconds of silence after the track. Therefore, making every track longer than it should be. I have tried highlighting the extra time and hitting delete but it still leaves that extra time. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? If every track I bounce down has extra time on the end, then there will be a long pause of silence in between every track on the cd. Please help.

Try selecting the exact in and out point in your timeline and then bounce to disc..

You can also select in any track (start at the first point of your audio and drag your mouse until the end of the track-the point you want it to stop) It should just bounce what you have selected.

I suggest creating a selection memory location. That will make sure that each bounce has the same length.

Right on. #50 is *PRINT*, and #51 is *EXPORT*.

What are you guys doing (or setting?) within the memory locations functionality to make playback, bouncing and recording stop at a specified time? I just read the chapter in the PDF PT reference guide and must have not interpretted what was written properly. I can't figure out how to use this to set a stopping point. I bet it's something very obvious and I'm missing it.

Make a memory location point for the start of your song, then make a memory location point for the end of your song. After you have done that, hold down the shift key and click on the start marker and then the end marker. You will then have a selection that goes from start to end in your session timeline. Go from there.

Just so I'm clear, in order for the memory locations to actually function as start & stop markers, I need to select the two points just like I would select any two spots in the edit window and click play, record or bounce? Sort of just an easier way to select the section I want to playback?
