Re: Request advice on PTLE Macbook vs Macbook Pro
All I know is that I just picked up the macbook pro 1.16 C2D and it is screamin' baby. I thought about a macbook, but the extra real estate was worth it for me to go the pro route. I don't regret it. Spend about 2200 CAD on mine.

Re: Request advice on PTLE Macbook vs Macbook Pro
I have a Macbook Pro with an Mbox 2 and Pro Tools LE 7.3. Everything works great but I am having some issues with plug-ins that is causing my sessions to not open. But when they are open it works wonderfully.

Re: Request advice on PTLE Macbook vs Macbook Pro
Unless Digi Support jumps up to the plate on THIS THREAD with good news... The only experience I have had, v.s the rave comments here on the "pro"
I'd say "Go pro"

Re: Request advice on PTLE Macbook vs Macbook Pro
for added confusion I'm using the macbook with 2 gig memory and PT le 7.3.1
and it works fine. BUT if it was my ONLY way to work i'd get a second monitor. performance - it reads large HD sessions and works great. screensize - as some one mentioned - is the only drawback.

Re: Request advice on PTLE Macbook vs Macbook Pro
HI,
MacBook user here, too. Size is relative, if you travel a lot and have not so much space left a smaller laptop size fits my needs better. I found the 15,4 Inch too big to want it constantly to carry it around. 13,3" fit everywhere and have essentially the same power as a Pro. But 2GIG RAM is a must. the PRO has lots of things to offer I don´t need or am willing to pay for. There is no performance issue with my MacBook. SO if you don´t need the Pro´s graphic power and 3GIG of RAM the MacBook offers serious bang for the buck for audio recording adn want to save money. regs
