Default Pro Tools 11 Student Upgrade

Yes I'm going there. I know we got our 10 licenses, later than we wanted but we got them. Im hearing that we might have to pay? I feel this is untrue but I'd like some official confirmation from Avid on if we will get Pro Tools 11 in the 4 years of free upgrades. Thanks.

It's a 99$ upgrade fee from pt 10 to pt 11, and 149$ from 9 to 11 if I remember right. The video of Russ Hughs from pro tools expert on youtube mentioned it. Unfortunately the pres release doesn't include the price for the student offer, will pass the word to see if it can be included in it.

I think they are basically under contract to uphold the student upgrade. I'm sure they will in time. I'm not worried.

Im aware of the rumor but isnt that for Academic licenses. Maybe im wrong but the Student and Academic licenses are separate and only students get the free upgrades. If you had 9 student license which I did/do you got 10 for free. So why would there be a 9 to 11 student upgrade price lol praying to god we get this lol $99 isnt fair if you cant reverify anymore.

Avid will be breaching contract by not granting student licenses to those who crossgraded or upgraded during the 4 year upgrade deal. They advertised it everywhere. Failure to come through will just be an invitation to lawsuits.

They could argue that protools 11 is a new product... which sucks yes....

I bought protools exactly 1 month ago, student edition. I activated it on march 26th 2013...

If this was cubase I would get a free upgrade...

Yes AxeDye is right. Academic and student licenses are different.

Default I Can't Wait - Quick Question

I'm so excited after the announcement for 11. I bought my old M-Box 2 back in
2009 and I've literally watched every update come out hoping for 64bit processing and many over fixes for constant crashing Pro Tools session.

I really think this is going to be the one!

I did have a quick question. I bought a copy of Pro Tools 9 in 2011. It was the academic copy with 4 years free upgrades. Does anybody know how this works?

I think I just got an email last time with links to version 10. Do we need to contact AVID this time?

Thank you in advance
