Default Burst of noise (not necessarily white noise) at the end of clips

Getting a huge burst of noise at the end of almost every audio clip I record. No waves plugins present in the session.

I have a MacBook Pro FW800->LaCie external drive which is sending out of the 2nd FW800 port to a FW800 to FW400 converter which is then being sent to a DIGI002r.

I have a hunch that the daisy chaining might be causing the problem. Help?

MacBook Pro 2012 8GB ram
LaCie External
PT 10.2
DIGI002r

Have you tried having fewer things in your daisy chain to see if the problem goes away?

Went strait into the FW400 port with the 002 (assuming that gets linked to the 800 ports?). Also just got PT 10.3.

Haven't had time to run a session yet ; ) but I will post results once I do.

I'm having the exact same problem with Pro Tools 10.2. I'm running Windows 7 though and using a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 firewire interface. Every single clip I record has about half a second of noise at the end of the clip. I've been assuming it's a bug since I never experienced it before in any other version of PT. It is kind of annoying, and I really hope it has been fixed in 10.3. But I am reluctant to do the update since 10.2 is really stable for me and I don't want to jinx it :)

Does the LaCie have Oxford chips? The only time I have ever experienced this issue was when my buddy connected his OWC external drive to my rig. His drive did not have that chip. I have used Glyph drives from day one and have not had the issue.

I have the same issue and record on my internal dedicated for audio sata drive, turning your delay compensation on and set to short seems to get rid of the problem. There are other posts aboutths issue.

Ah good suggestion, I'll have to try that. Couldn't find any other threads about quite the same thing. DTP seems to suggest that the fault is with Waves for a lot of white noise threads.

Not sure, will have to look. Just bought a OWC Mercury yesterday though... lol.

Just installed 10.3. Running fine so far, except the noise is still happening at the end of every clip. Turning Delay Compensation on does seem to get rid of it, but that's obviously a bad workaround that uses CPU.

Anything else? Fix coming?

I often get a "pop" sound when I'm using the Aphex Aural Exciter, so for me it's a plug-in issue. It only happens on bounces or when I do any signal routing in the Pro Tools mixer, so my regions/clips are fine.

There is someone in the thread that gets your're problem too. I also get it along with the added bonus of an occasional nuclear test.
