missing partitions??
I've searched the DUC, and haven't come across anyone who's mentioned a dilemma like this. A few weeks ago I started up my G4 500 (OS9.2.2 PT 5.3.1), and noticed that one of my audio drives (Seagate Barracuda ATA 28gb was now only showing 1 of the 8 partitions that I had created for it?!).
I've tried the Apple disk utility, Norton systemworks , yet nothing seems to bring those partitions back. Should I reseat the drive, or will that wipe out everything? So, is there anyway to bring these missing partions back from the abyss? Do I need to re-format the drive and start anew? Thanks in advance for your help. jh |

Re: missing partitions??
Hello,
I would give Disk Warrior a try if its available to you. With the system shut down you can reseat the drives ATA cable without a problem. If you don't need the material on the other partitions then I would backup what you can and reinitialize the drive with drive setup. If you are still having problems at that point you may want to consider replacing the drive. Mike |
