What is Interlok (R)?
I'm getting an initializing error message that says something about downloading Interlok (R) device drivers. They refer me to this website to obtain the "latest drivers" ( www.paceup.com) but the link doesn't work
My OS is vista. I have PT 8.0.5

Pace is the company that owns www.ilok.com, where you would download the iLok drivers for end users. Interlok is the technology used for the iLok and other copy protection services.
The iLok.com website is currently not available while they perform web maintenance, but should be back up in the next few hours. When it comes back up, look for Downloads or Support to find the drivers.

Adding to Bruce's info. The link you have there for the pace drivers is wrong. It is paceap - not paceup .... But they're not up yet either

Go to www.iLok.com and download the iLok License Manager from the links at the top of the page. Then download the 32-bit or 64-bit version depending on your operating system. Even if you don't have an iLok USB hardware key, the iLok License Manager will install the required extensions for your Pro Tools 8 software.
You should not be going to the older paceap.com website if you are on Windows. The only end users that would ever use that would be Mac users that are looking for the Legacy InterLok Mac OS X extensions installer for Mac OS X (Tiger) and below. They used to host all of the installers on the paceap site, which is why an older version of Pro Tools or other software might direct you there in an error message. But since they moved the end user website to www.iLok.com you would get all of your info and downloads there.

In addition to Bruce's advice, note that some browsers do not "like" Pace, so if you are having troubles, try another(IE on Windows is usually fine, but IE8 had issues back when LE8 was the latest(can't say for sure now)
