Default HDX2 - running out of DSP resources - tips?

Hey all,
We're running an HDX2 system for a Dolby Atmos Stage with dedicated DAMS on a separate machine connected via Dante.

We're having difficulties running out of DSP ressources for the mixer really quick.
Do you guys have any tips how to deal with this (other than the obvious 'HDX3' or 'wait for hybrid engine')?

I'm f.e. not sure how sub-paths affect DSP usage. Does it help to get rid of sub-paths of all the 7.1.2 paths we use in the IO setup?

Anything else? We're running all plugins natively anyways.

Thanks!

I would suggest you open the System Usage Window if you are not familiar with that already. It should give you an idea where the DSP use is at, and whether removing something helps.

Thanks, but of course I'm familiar with the sys usage window.

I'm asking for specific tips from other users who run into the same problem with a Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite connected via Dante.

So do you think this is specific to Dante? Works alright with another interface?

no I don't think it's specific to Dante. That would not make any sense, would it?
But I think it's pretty specific to use-cases with 128 physical IOs and a lot of internal 7.1.2 bussing.

Therefore I'm waiting for tips from people who use both of these.

for troubleshooting purposes you could perhaps rule out Dante by using another interface just for playback of old material? If playback is fine with -say- Avid HD interface, then it would be pretty certain it is bussing issue.

There is no other interface. It's all connected via a MTRX.

Janne, with all due respect, it seems you're not really familiar with the workflow of an HDX2-system connected to a Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite.

I'm looking for tips how to reduce the DSP mixer resources in that specific use case.

True, haven't done any Atmos work. But I do know something about PT mixer and that's where your problem is somewhere.

Right. That's why I asked for tips how to reduce the DSP mixer load with specific tips, like f.e. getting rid of subpaths.

Now we've gone full circle. Let's wait for someone with specific suggestions.

Can you perhaps post screenshot of your routing?
