PT LE for Win. XP v. Mac Pros and Cons?

I don't know whether I should get a G4 or have a pc hybrid built. The PC would have a 2.8 Ghz proc. 512 MB Ram and a 133mhz PCI buss with a 100 gig hd. It would also be a lot cheaper than the G4 because a friend is building it. My first question would be can you take a PT LE session on XP and easily transfer it to a mac TDM or LE system? Will this type of hybrid pc work very well with LE with little hang ups? What are all the pros and cons of each? You may also email me at [email protected]

Double check the ram on that PC. Should be PC2700 DDR or faster for that processor running at FSB333. If not you don't want it. I assume it is a P4 2.8Ghz.
They key here is the chipset. Make sure you are using a chipset that is proven to work. See the "Best System for PTLE for under 1k" thread for latest info on the hybrid PC. I'll bump it up to the top for you. The best P4 system is listed below on that first post.

Macs give you more third party software and plugin options at this time. The disparity is ending though. PCs give you double the processing power and after seeing the problems with OSX and PTLE 6.0 I'd say a more stable operating system in WinXP. That will be argued to death though.

You can easily transfer sessions back and forth with the Mac/PC compatibility option in the PTLE software. Just make sure it is checked when creating a new session.
