Default Digi Pre & Midi

I keep getting the message PT can't communicate with Pre input on channel xx,
I reloaded everything, changed midi cables , reset , etc. a\Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Delver ,

Before all,be sure to see the midi i/o and PRE in : application -utility -Audio Midi configuration and that they are connected right.

If yes, in pro tools try to go in : Setup-Peripherals-Mic Preamps - and where is the PRE set the type on none. Chose ok and quit pro tools.
Reopen pro tools and go again in : Setup-Peripherals-Mic Preamps - and now chese PRE, recevie from PRE-1 , Send to PRE-1 and OK.
Now it would be ok.
If you have still problem try to reset the MIDI i/o and do again the procedure.
