Default Can I use USB 2.0 vs FW 400 for external drive

I'm thinking about trying to take my mixes on the road.

Will I have any problems using an external drive connected to my USB 2.0 ports? I'll have the Digi on a FW card and am thinking that it might be best to keep them separate.

Any advice here?

Thx

as long as your drive is usb 2.0 it should work. However, firewire is still the best solution for substained transfer of larger files. Here is a comparison I pulled up for firewire vs USB 2.0

Great, thanks for the link. So I suppose it will be better to just connect the 002 rack to the external FW drive, which will then be connected to my FW card adapter, correct?
