Default Need plug-in to reduce hiss on tracks - advice too

Is there something in ProTools 6.4 LE that I can use to remove the hiss from a track. Something where I can sample the hiss and then tell the plug-in to remove all instances of it on the track?

If not what is the cheapest best way to remove this hiss and noise.

Thanks,

Waves restoration bundle is excellent for this... Strip Silence will clean-up between songs with the right threshold, but won't do exactly what you want... Cheap & easy method for you would be to use an EQ with a very tight Q setting over the 'hiss' frequency range...

Good luck...

What about SoundSoap II? It's only $79. They say it's an RTAS plugin. Anyone try it? Can I zero in on individual tracks using SoundSoap II or does it work on the entire mix at once?

and if you want it free, you can try this. IF you have a section of the track with hiss and nothing but hiss that's a few seconds long, copy that audio to a new track. Highlight it and repeat it for the entire song, add a one band EQ(no eq adjustment required) and hit the polarity reverse button. Pan it the same as your original track and bring the level up. You may get lucky and the out-of-phase hiss track will cancel the hiss on the original track. Its a bit of work but its free.
