MADI HD Output channel behavior w/ 96khz hardware and 44.1khz sessions
My goal is to avoid having to change sample rates on multiple devices when switching from 96khz and 44.1/48khz sessions. The idea is to keep all my hardware set at 96k. Of course 96k works just fine with 96khz session but the issue is when I'm trying to play sessions at 44.1/48khz.
Outputs need to be set to odd number channels only 1, 3, 5, etc to show up (as 1, 2, 3, etc) on the HDSPe which i use as a mixer (check my signature about my configuration) I've messed with split/normal MADI modes but neither seem to affect anything. Both digilink ports on the MADI HD are connected to both ports on the HDX card. Any ideas? Perhaps SRC on the MADI HD might work? If so how would I configure that? HD MADI is the master clock Thanks |

Yes, SRC would be the ticket. Check out the Hardware Setup Window. It's described in the guide starting on page 19:

I got the right configuration to solve the channel mapping issue. The latest thing is that I still need to switch between 88.2 on my devices (to match a 44.1 session) and 96k (to match a 48 session). Is there any way to prevent having to do that? It's minor I know, but again my goal is to achieve a "set it and forget it" setup if possible. Does sample rate conversion only work on the SMUX1/2/4 level (i.e. double speed and quadruple speed) or can it switch between the sample rate on each of those levels 44.1 and 48, 88.2. and 96, 176.4 and 192? Thanks again! Last edited by bluemoa; 03-01-2021 at 11:26 PM. Reason: Grammer is not my strong point |

This should work fine. I looked at it with my MTRX. The only thing you will need is to distribute Word into the HD MADI SRC Clock in from the device you are sending / receiving from. I use a clock DA so all of the Word is common. Hope this helps.

Ah, I had a few different settings than this picture. After matching the configuration with the image you provided it's working perfectly with 44.1 and 48khz sessions without switching anything, just as I was hoping for! Thank you again!
