Pro Tools 11 hangs
I recently got a new toshiba laptop:
Windows 8.1 Quad core intel m4700 i7 16 gb ram 1TB drive Pro Tools 11.1.2 Quite often when i am editing in pro tools the curser freezes the playback does not stop on the audio tracks but the Midi instruments stop playing i.e., superior drummer or expand pads. All ability to do anything stops for about 10 seconds then functions resume. I have had taskmanager running to see if there was a processor overload, when this occurs there is very little system usage Anyone else have similar problem or and ideas what might be going on. The was not an issue when i was running win 7. |

Re: Pro Tools 11 hangs
Do you have a second drive for PT to record to?
Do you have a separate drive for you samples? Musts to have when using PT; just because things may have worked okay when you ran Win 7 doesn't mean they're going to work in Win 8. Drive partitions don't count as separate drives. Nor does trying to stuff everything on a fast ssd. You'd only have one data I/O path and that can't handle multiple requests at the same time. |
