Cannot Import MP3's - Avid Pro Audio Community

Cannot Import MP3's

Running on Mac OS 10.6.3 Quad Core Mac Pro. I can export in MP3 format, but not import mp3 audio. I can import wav audio. Anybody have any ideas?
