Very interesting Ryan, how exactly did you do the replacement thing?

Exactly. Installer format for live is different for both AAX and TDM. But it's very simple at the same time.

Not sure if TDM is worth spending efforts, since it's 1. very different from AAX (more work to develop both) 2. doesn't look like a long-term market. But it's just my IMHO and I could be wrong.

Hi,

Have you seen this thread:
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=280369

As long as you are programming reverb you could make it dependent on the BPM of the system.

For the replacement:
I would keep it simple, as trigger signal the original source, sidechain filters to get the best out of the original signal.
A mix function so we can choose how many original signal and how many sample signal we want to use.
That way we need only one input channel.
Separate EQ for the sample and the original would be great.

That's about it. The most important thing are the samples used, and there are so many samples out there that you don't have to bother.

Could split samples be interesting there? Like just attack, or just tail, or just frequency range? Something to think about.

Reverbs: Rev250 coud be an interesting starting point (with added BPM features) as it uses really few memory (and memory management is one of the DSP critical points for a company just starting).

Also a "rich delay" (often more useful than a reverb) could be interesting. With all kinds of BPM and duck features but an extremely simple interface.

I'm very happy to say that our first products for HDX and Venue are running great.
Currently playing with our envelope modeler, very useful to tame peaks and decay with no threshold.

So, while setting the first ones for the official presentation, please keep ideas coming!

Planning to visit AES in September? Don't miss our booth.

Great news! Please make it to work both ways, to tame and accelerate peaks, as other transient designers / modulators typically do

We have a Midas Heritage 3000 here. Interested in a virtual model? Preamps and EQs.
