Same here!

Mine is in front of me, on the desk. I can live with the fan noise.

If yours is like mine its so quiet I wouldn't call it noise.
Its not noticable to my ears, unless I put my ears real close.
Even then its pretty scilent.

Mine is standing by itself (not in a rack). Its only a bit warm on the left top side. Im guessing this is where the powersupply is located.
Everywhere else its cold/normal temperature.

Very nice quality conversion. Best Iv ever tried.
Much louder and clearer than my Mbox 3 Pro.

Hm. Du you think it could be the temperature in my room? After a few hours I can here my omni humming. Not very loud but still there.

The unit is standing 0,5 m from my listening position.

Im also tracking 0,5 m from the Omni.

My Omni is often on for several days in a row, but I still can't hear any humming or fan noise.
My room temperatur is about 22 degrees celsius.

The fan is set to auto and I have version 2.10 of the firmware.

I'm measuring my room-temp right now. For now it's 23,3 degrees celsius.. and it's rising...

take a look at this photo of my omni placement.. Should the unit have free space above it as well? (the sides of the unit are not covered)

The omni gets a lot hotter if the sides are enclosed as in your picture. If you free stand it then it will run cooler. Even after firmware you still notice the fan note though it does not ramp up and down constantly.

Mine is not covered by anything above it or on the sides like yours is.
In adittion i have some small bits of foam on each bottom corner to lift it
up from the table. This way it also gets air below.

I took the omni out from its lair on the photo. And the fan-noise almost disappeared.

I have to rebuild my desktop:)
