I saw that video. It seems that the Ryzen builds would be serving extremely well those folks like me who have a home studio setup and aren't mixing big movies and huge productions, atleast not yet anyway. Maybe with more bios updates and later generations and things of that nature, it would be able to stay side by side with and/or surpass its counterparts.

But as for me, I'm pretty happy with what I will be seeing above and beyond my current computer setup.

Dual versus quad channel doesn't seem to be an issue for audio apps.

I must be confusing this bench mark with passmark (geekbench).

Ryzen looks like it's a Bad Motor Skooter.
I am a bit confused. The comparison chart here shows it about half the speed of the comparable Intel processor (6950x) granted, it is half the price, so half the speed is not all that terrible..

It can have an overall effect of your system performance though. Ram intensive sample libraries could see a hit as well.

I am too. I'm not sure where you are getting the speed from? What comparison chart, and is it comparing Intel to Ryzen?

I was looking at post #17, middle picture. I just realized it is a Xeon on top, I was just assuming it was a Ryzen with the 6950x comparison below it....OOPS.

Yeah, his was the Xeon, my post was the Ryzen. Either way, my new computer is gonna eat my 2007 1,1 Mac Pro for lunch and dinner.
