Default MIDI hanging notes /echo effect...

I am new to Pro Tools, but very MIDI experienced person, coming from Logic.
I have a really strange problem.
While just playing a Virtual instrument, for example NEXUS or Kontakt4 or PLAY from my MIDI keyboard through Emagic AMT8 with the transport stopped it often comes to a point that my live playing notes stop and I will hear my just played sequence playing back, like a loop or from a MIDI buffer. After that I have to hit Play /stop to empty the MIDI buffer and I can play some notes again...
Why? I have disabled the plugin delay compensation without different behaviour.

I really wanna like Pro Tools after cashing out for a HD system...

Hi,

Hard to diagnose without knowing more about your session setup. areas to look at...

preferences / midi. look at the pulldown list and see if its set to "first selected midi track"

global midi offset is set to 0 samples

under setup / midi / midi studio. check there is only one icon for your midi interface.

Do you have any plugins on the master channel?

Any other plugins in the session when you are testing this?

is it happening on all sessions or just one?

Whats your hardware buffer set to?

Got the latest driver for the amt8

All virtual instruments are up to date?

The AMT8 is connected directly into the computer and NOT through a USB hub!!

Local midi is turned off on your controller keyboard!!

Chris

Hi,

Yes setting your processors to odd numbers is recommended! especially for using VI's. some VI's just don't like it when the processors are set to even numbers? they overload the CPU and cause all sorts of problems.

Glad you're sorted.

Hello all,
I am facing the same problem, a looping noise crackling when I am playing back midi until the notes just hand indefinitely, i then have to stop playback , in that only session.

System Windows 8.1, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

preferences / midi. look at the pulldown list and see if its set to "first selected midi track" -- Yes

global midi offset is set to 0 samples -- Yes
under setup / midi / midi studio. check there is only one icon for your midi interface-- No devices are seen here

Do you have any plugins on the master channel? -- Yes there was a reverb I disabled it but still problem persists

Any other plugins in the session when you are testing this?no

is it happening on all sessions or just one?Just this session

Whats your hardware buffer set to?1024, and processers 3 instead of 4

All virtual instruments are up to date?yes

Please help

You dredged up a 7-year-old thread(plus adding to other threads as well). You will be much better served to post a new thread, in the proper section and with great detail about your computer/interface and midi controller(s). One fresh, clear and concise thread is better than "thread-jumping" all this old stuff(which may or may not be related)
