Default Mbox Pro 3 with USB-C?

So the new MacBook Pros only have Thunderbolt 3 (which is USB-C) ports. Anyone know if there's a way to connect Firewire to a USB-C port that's proven to work?

I think you'll need something similar to this (Windows only?): https://www.startech.com/Cables/thun...er~TBT3TBTADAP and this: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD...rewire-adapter but that's a bit of a guess..

Everything I've read so far sounds like the MacBooks with USB-C connectors aren't compatible with Firewire.

The Apple TB2 to firewire adapter is working great on my PC. TB/USB-C to TB adapters are just hardware so they ought to work fine.

It sounds like it's a hardware issue. Seems to only work with non-Apple laptops.

Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter then Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire adapter.

And yes Thunderbolt 3 is always on USB-C ports, but not all USB-C ports have Thunderbolt 3, the new MacBook Pro do. This all has nothing to do with the actual real USB serial link on USB-C ports. There is no way to go from that to Firewire.

Next question.

Thankfully, OWC has it covered (found it while researching ways to hook up my Mbox 3 Pro to a 2017 iMac):
