Default Wasted space in plugin windows is a drag

Are the common, Pro Tools defined, user interface elements of plugin windows cemented into place? I can understand the desire to keep consistency across plugins for the PT user, but for plugins that have are primarily vertical, there's a tremendous amount of unused grey space to the left and right of the centered plugin faceplate.

Avid needs to at least provide a condensed option (either reduced buttons or cut the layout in 1/2 and stack it) for the long horizontal layout of the elements at the top of the window as an option for plugin developers.

I, for one, would very much like to see "micro" versions of plugins that reduce to meters only, or other displays reduced to critical info only.

Can't say I ever noticed this here. Could it be a graphics issue on your system? (but, yes, I would love to be able to re-size the windows).

Hi,

Only a very few plugins are small enough not to fit the PT plugin window! Then you get this blank grey area etc.

Are you sure you haven't got view/plugin Mapping on? That will make the plugin window even bigger etc!

Open the Dorrough meter from Waves and set it to "small" meter and vertical orientation. The meter is one plugin that I particularly want to leave open.
