Default I\'ve come over from The Dark Side!

Just a quick hiya, I've just junked my PC and got myself a G5 iMac 20" which arrived yesterday - I'm very impressed indeed with it. I'm running PTLE6.4 on OSX 10.3.5 with no problems whatsoever to report after a good few hours of testing. I'll try and pop up some davec scores for folk wondering about the new iMac's performance potential. Suffice to say though, it's a beauty. And, Altiverb rocks!

Welcome! Micro$oft is the true Evil Empire, and Bill Gates is the antichrist.

I'm a Mac person since 1985, starting with the 512Ke. I presently have 4 Macs on line on the LAN in my home - a Starmax (Motorola Mac clone) for email and web stuff, an old 7100 (NuBus) with an AudioMedia II and SoundDesigner, my G4 with my digi001 and PT, and my wife's 1GHz dual G4 that she runs her business on.

You should consider using your PC for Gigastudio 2.5., and good luck with your new system.

Excellent! I love hearing about people using and recycling systems.

I too have jsut switched over... a 1.3 G4 Ibook and a dual 1.8 G5...

My PC (a 900mhz Celeron!) is still running Logic 5.5 fine. Kinda bummed to switch to ProTools LE after working with Logic for so long, but my MID days are fewer and fewer....and compatibility with the big studios is key.
My ole PC does quite well, especially considering it only has 256 megs of ram and a 100mhz fsb. I recorded and mixed 3 entire albums on it with Logic 5.5, an MAudio Delta 1010 and a crapload of Waves...no problems powerwise, I just kept chewing up hard drives in Win 98. Now I'll put XP on it and use it as my MIDI machine. I sold my 1010 and put in my ole audiophile 2496...

Any ideas how to sync Logic on my PC with PT on my macs via MIDI???

Nice idea, but it's already been 'claimed' by my wife, which I suppose is fair dinkum!

Man my PC runs rock solid. I cant remember the last time it crashed protools. Oh ya when i tried to load service pack 2 with 6.4 it blue screened. Thats a known issue with LE software though. You gotta get the right hardware. I stick with Pentium 4, Asus and adaptec. My computer is flawless. I have a dedicated drive just for protools running XP pro. G5s are very pretty machines and im sure they run splendid but there too expensive. I can see spending 2500 bucks on a computer when i can spend right at a 1000 and get a scream machine.
