Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Finally upgraded my PT system to HDX and latest version of PT Ultimate (2020.3). So far the new rig is working great, except on all of my plug-ins, the meters are quite a bit ahead of the audio. All plug-ins seems to be affected (Native, DSP, and UAD). Deactiving one Izotope plug-in on a channel with very long delay compensation value helped it a lot. Channel meters are working correctly.
Other system details: HDX1, 192, UAD Octo PCIe, 12 core Mac Pro 5,1 running High Sierra 10.13.6 Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Hi, are you sure your izotope plugin that seem to cause the problem is updated to latest version?

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Not the latest Izotope version. I have the latest release of RX4 Advanced.
I am pretty sure the cause is not specifically that plug-in, but rather it is any plugin (or chain of plugins) that causes the delay compensation to be really long. For example, when I replace the iZotope instance with Waves Linear Multiband, it does the same thing. Thanks

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
I have heard izotope, especially outdated version, is notorious of introducing several random problems. Please move that plugin to unused folder and test your system again

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
I'm having GUI issues too with the playback cursor being visually ahead of the audio. (all drivers updated)
Try temporarily switching the playback buffer hitting play and then switching back to the original buffer. This resolves my GUI issue each session it occurs. |

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Yes, removing iZotope really makes it a lot better. Plug-in meters are working correctly now without iZotope plug ins installed. I still have some delay compensation issues when bussing from one track to another on input only mode though.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
No problem. Someone with updated izotone could confirm the latest version is good with 2020.3 perhaps? So you would not need to upgrade without knowing.

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
I was just working on a session today that has 10367 samples of delay on a dialog track. It's a combination of Fabfilter, Avid, Waves, and an RX7 DeReverb on the track itself, bussed through DME and master busses with various plugins, including Ozone 8 Adv. Meters were staying in sync just fine.

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Thanks Scotty. The plug-in meters are in sync? Any other delay compensation related issues?

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio
Ugh, I upgraded to iZotope RX7 Advanced and the plug in meters are still way ahead of the audio, so it isn't an issue with having an older version.
