MAJOR ISSUES WITH 002 RIG!!! HELP!!!!

This first happened last night.
I turn on the rig, the "mute" light comes on and nothing else (no normal cycling of sample rate light, etc.). My cpu wont recognize th HW or the 350g external daisy chained through it. so i switch out power cords, and let it rest for a half hour. come back and give it a shot and nothing again. i leave it on and like 5mins later it suddenly works.
today i come home, go to turn it on and he same thing happens! problem now is that it wont start at all after i let it run. has anybody had this happened? do you know how to fix this? Thanks.

Try this:

Change all your FireWire cords, and try cleaning the ports, while the computer is OFF!!!

Dust can do all kinds of funny stuff to computers.

i tried clearing out anything and still nothing. when i connect on the back of the rig i get the green lights flickering on for a fracion of a sec and hen they go off. any more info out there?

Search the forum for "002 power harness" and you'll probably find your solution.

so i popped the top. wiggled all of the connectors and now it "seems" to work.
hopefully this wont happen too often. i dont want to have to pay digi for support, when i forked out over 1k for this.
