Full-time audio pro here, for a long time. Mostly PT LE tracking/mixing/mastering projects at my studio, plus some remote recordings, plus some freelance studio/broadcasting gigs around town.

I make my living with PT LE, currently 7.3 on a G5. Spent several years doing jingles, song demos, and indy records in Nashville. Now doing mostly spoken-word editing in Orlando as a full-time employee in the media dept of a large Christian ministry. I miss working with music every day, but I don't miss wondering when I'm gonna get paid next! Still do small jobs now and then with my home rig, too.

I use PT 8 and 7.4.2 (more 8 lately since it gives me no problems and I'm also madly in love with it lol) for some jingle work, arrangements on others' songs and work on my own music, too.

It's been a living for me for the past year or so. I've been doing an assortment of Post Production editing. Mostly editing dialogue and ADR lately. I just wrapped a comedy album this afternoon. Working on PT 8 LE on my Digi 003.

I am a full time studio owner and sound engineer.

http://www.musicproject.co.il/Sitefiles/1/14/1415.asp

http://www.musicproject.co.il/Sitefiles/1/21/6574.asp

PT LE 8cs02 is my main daw in my studio and i also take it road tripping and record live shows.

i am currently not very happy with protools 8, it's bugs and compatibility issues on the PC side of things.

i just moved to MAC from PC but discovered some of the plugins i run on my sessions are windows only plugs.

so i installed bootcamp and xp pro, and after overcoming the "play/pause" thing i discovered there is a problem with PT managing the 8 cores of my new mac pro. i can only have all 16 of them working and that's not very good on xp and i get plenty of errors.

In short, i am a frustrated customer .

Nope. Especially not trying to use RTAS VI's with PT8 which is a COMPLETE JOKE.

Yes, with lots of VIs and tracks on my first gen MacBook Pro and Digi 002R.

Just scored (yes Orchestral) a German TV commercial with it, fantastic.

Worked in HD environment as well so know the joys of HD.

I write music for adverts on British TV and Radio using my PTLE8 setup on both my PC and MacBook Pro. Sometimes with just an MBox2 Mini attached.

Loads of fine plugins and VIs, Command|8 and nice monitors and it makes me a great living. The money from the ads allows me to do less lucrative work too, like recording, mixing and producing artists, post-production work and general audio duties.

I've worked in HD studios too, but it's absolutely not necessary for my work. Especially since PT8 came out - I'm hardly even touching my vaste array of expensive third-party plug ins and just using the AIR stuff at the moment, and it's producing top-quality results.

With a nice front-end, a powerful computer, integrated controllers and a selection of third-party plugins, there is practically no audio task that you can't achieve with first-class results using Pro Tools LE - provided you know what you're doing.
