Help!!! 003 rack not detected by i Mac!

I have the same problem but with windows. Before I haved a 002 and this works very good, and now with the 003 my pc does not detect it. i think that this problem is for incompatibility with the system configuration in my pc.... MotherBoard or the port firewire.

Depending on when you bought your iMac, you might have the dreaded Agere firewire chipset. Apple switched over to these cheaper chipsets in September 2007.

Reboot your machine while holding Command-S. This will bring up a screen with lots of system info. About halfway down you will either see Texas Instruments or Lucent/Agere.

If it's Agere, you're in for a long series of emails and calls with Digi and Apple support.....

For what it's worth, I ended up returning my Macbook because of the Agere chipset; it wouldn't recognize any firewire audio interfaces but saw drives just fine.....
