Default Ideascale going away

So having a day or so to ponder things what's people's opinions on Ideascale going away at the end of the month? I know there's a sticky at the top of the main page in the Announcements section. Can't seem to comment there.

The platform may be going away put the ability to post ideas is being migrated into the new Avid Link App and the ACA.

“One platform, IdeaScale, will be retired on September 27, 2018. In preparation for this transition, we encourage you to start using the Avid Customer Association or the Avid Link beta app for submitting feedback around product innovations. As part of this transition, we plan to import many of the most popular existing feature requests from IdeaScale at the end of this year.”

No such plans, don't worry. If something, they tend to want to be using this more...

i think that's the reason avid is transforming this function to somewhere that is more visible and therefore more available for users that get great ideas. believe me, the ideascale stuff is noted and considered, the effort of users is not in vain

'Noted and considered' is one thing but to actually have that converted over into 'acted upon' is something that seems to be lacking. I mean how many Ideascale threads are on there from years ago and still haven't been worked into PT?

Many.

But have you counted how many are implemented? And have you taken a note how long it took to implement new features in the past? I think things are moving to the right direction now, but you know big ship turns slowly :/

What they really need to do is streamline decision-making, so that new things don't get lost on some manager meeting where they decide which ones to do first -- like some developer could implement a small but much wanted feature and then show it to the alpha team, and that team manager would just say go and then beta team checks if everything is okay after the changes made... and then marketing would decide how to sell it to the customers.

Currently it SEEMS to be working backwards, not very agile.

(...and no, I really have no inside information how their process really goes, this is just guessing like every Tom, Dick, and Harry)
