How do I half-tempo without slow down playback speed of MIDI

I was task to put a song that was MIDI generated into ProTools 11, adding MIDI instruments in Xpand2 and then add live guitars and violin.

Although it is a fairly slow song (Tempo=69), they gave the file with double tempo=138, where it should be 69.

The biggest issue is that I can not add loops to the song, as it plays the loops in double tempo, which sound weird.

How can I half the tempo of the song without halving the playback tempo? The song needs to be Tempo=69 4/4 beat.

- switch the timebase for all MIDI tracks to samples
- set the tempo to 69
- switch the timebase back to tick-based for all MIDI tracks

If you're worried, do a Save As, name it (I use SongName + v2, v3, v4, and so on), and off you go.
