Hi guys, I'm asking for help... frustrated with windows...

Do you think my computer could be turned into a Hackintosh that might be a better ride than a win machine it is right now?

I have a:

Intel 875K processor
Gigabyte P55-UD3L MOBO
XFX 5750 1 Gb 1 slot VIDEO
16GB of memory
4 x PTHD PCI cards

I don't think it will, or at least not easily.
With a different mb and video card chances would rise.

Hmm.. I thought Gigabyte MB's are the ones to go... It's a nice board considering I have my 4 PCI PT cards on it. Why you think this Mobo would not work?

They are, but yours is an older generation board, and a quick inquiry didn't show too many successful builds with this model.
Since you need 4 PCI slots you will have to go with an older board, that's understood. But it's going to be tough that way. Not saying it's impossible.

As I write this I try to get myself to understand the terminology about such builds... If I understand correctly one thing is to get the OSX up and running, the other thing is to get add on stuff like Network, SATA and possibly PCI cards like out Accel cards to work. Is there something "special" that needs to be done to get Accel cards to be recognized?

Basically it's like a windows installation. There's step 1 installing windows and step 2 installing the drivers for your devices.

It's the same with a Hackintosh. First you need to install OSX, then you need to install the drivers. It's just more complicated, because there are no official drivers for all those mbs out there to work with OSX.
Once those drivers are installed, and OSX "knows" your mb, the Hackintosh basically behaves like a real Mac. So you don't need to do any special things to get stuff recognized. Video cards are a different story though.

One more thing, is it possible or even a good idea to create a dual boot system, so that I could go back to Win7 if I will not be able to get the OSX side to operate as needed, or will I be modifying BIOS in a way, that boot to Win will not be an option anymore?

Dual boot is an option and no problem at all.
