Consolidating / exporting a session
Good afternoon everyone:
I am (nearly) finished downmixing a 5.1 music mix for a documentary to a stereo mix of approx 48 minutes total runtime. All the final cues (rendered in the session) are lined up sequentially in just one stereo track, and all other tracks (A and B rolls, split into dozens of mono tracks) are removed. I want to send the rendered cues as well as the final downsized session to my composer, however when I do a 'save copy in' apparently all the audio files that were in the original file are copied and I end up with a whopping nearly 8 GB session. Am I wrong in thinking that "save copy in" only copies those clips from the bin that are actually used, or does it still copy everything ever used in any previous session even if those clips and the tracks have been removed? If so, what is the workaround, should I right click in the bin and select and remove everything (only from the session) that is no longer used, or maybe create a new session and import just this one stereo track? Thanks! |

Re: Consolidating / exporting a session
Main Playlist Only is the setting you are looking for in the Save Copy In dialog.

Re: Consolidating / exporting a session
In your "save copy in"-session you could go further reducing the data amount by
deleting unused audio in the clip list selecting all remaining clips in the clip list and choose "compress". It will "consolidate" every clip to its own length.
