'As *part* of P.T' ? I must be behind the times. I've always paid for Melodyne as a seperate plugin. Was there some kind of bundle happening?

Are you aware of this, or does this inform your question?

I can't remember exactly because I have a copy of Melodyne free with Presonus Studio One. But IIRC, Pro Tools also comes with a copy - just the simple "Essential" product. I also can't remember whether it comes with Studio or just Ultimate, as I have one copy of each.

Pretty sure Melodyne Essential comes with all versions(the main AVID site would have this info), but if you own previous "upper-level" versions, they are preferred. If say, you owned an older up-scale version(such as Studio 3 or Editor 4), its worth upgrading as you can't have multiple versions installed(so Essentials 5 would blow out Studio 3). I wish it wasn't that way, but.........In any case, I upgraded from 4 to 5 as the extra features and improved sound quality were well worth it(to me, anyway).

Melodyne is required for Audio to MIDI functionality in PT so yes, it comes with all versions.
