Default Delay Compensation for Harware Inserts

I've had to turn OFF delay compensation in order to get my hardware insert (dbx 160A) to return a signal that is in time with the music. Is this normal? If I turn delay compensation ON, the return signal is ahead of the rest of the music.

Humm? I have not found that to be case on my system I have two HW units set up as inserts However both are on Aux input tracks ..... An analog HW comp on the "2 Mix" bus (main bus Aux track) , and Digital reverb its own Aux track.

Sounds like your audio interface (Apollo) is over-reporting its buffer/delay so Pro Tools is over-compensating. This is a problem with your audio interface drivers so it is going to be specific to what audio interface you use.

Do you have any UAD plugins running in your Apollo mixer (even bypassed/inactive)? Try removing all your Apollo drivers, clear any UAD Apollo preferences/settings, and reinstall the Apollo drivers. (No need to remove the UAD plugins -- just trying to reset the communication with the Apollo and reset the Apollo mixer)

Thanks guys. Well I don't know what was wrong, but it's working today with Delay Compensation on and the audio is well-aligned, as it should be!
