Default Can't use sessions at 44.1kHz

I've searched around for this - because I have read it somewhere, but i can't find it again...

Basically I can't run Pro Tools at 44.1 because of loud pops and clicks - although it runs fine at 48. i went to open a template which are saved at 44.1 at had the problem - immediately closing that and switching to 48 solves the problem.

I'm using an eleven rack...So basically I can't use a session saved at 44.1.

Any ideas - thanks in advance....
