MP3 export or bounces crashes 8.1 cs1

everytime I export using the mp3 option, PT crashes. I am on an intel 4 core 3ghz, running latest combo update of snow leopard 10.6.4, with PT HD 8.1 cs1. The mp3 gets created, but I have to restart the OSX to be able to restart PT.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Go to applications/digidesign/pro tools/codecs/mp3 and remove the mp3.bundle and make sure there are no other mp3 bundles in this folder!

then go here and download and install the bundle again...

you might also need to trash prefs as described in the troubleshooting sticky, but try above first.

Still no joy. Did all that. Sometimes mp3 bounces dont crash it, but most times they do. I reverted to the previous version of PT, and it is all fine...so is something about 8.1. Any other ideas?
