Default what we all want to know from digidesign

what we all want to know from digidesign
after releasing the m-powered version, which is great:

whats your plans according to LE-users, who already payed for the software and want to take advantage
of the m-audio multi-I/O possibilities:

a LE software update making m-audio connectable?
a special crossgrade price for PT m-powered?
nothing?

Bumping this.

This is a very important issue.

Maybe edit the original post to make the topic direct!

I will take a $100 LE-MP crossgrade or I will spend $350 for an LE version that runs with no extra hardware on my Powerbook. Maybe M-Audio should just release a compatible PCMCIA card and that could solve some problems.

Hey David,
What do you mean by "multi-I/O"???? More than one M-powered interface can be used in a computer?

It looks like that on PCs with windows XP m-audio drivers can see multiple interfaces as one. but this doesn't work on mac...

As with the digi 001/002/002R you can have 16 inputs sent to PT with the fw1814: 8 analog (requiers mic preamps) + 8-ch ADAT (requiers an Octane or equivalent), this at 44.1 or 48K.

So I wonder is the multiple i/o for PC supported or just happens to work? That means Pro Tools M-Powered is recording up to 32 inputs. (on XP at least) I guess LE users are stuck at 16 inputs (w/Spdif 18) Unless there is an upgrade in 6.8/6.9/7.0 Thanks for the info M.

For M-Powered that looks like the best bet for 16 tracks at once. 1814 is has the most inputs when used with an ADAT A/D converter (Octane and others)

Hello hotbeatz

from Digi Engineering

On OSX you can only use a single device at a time. On XP you can use multiple Delta cards simultaneouly because M-Audio has an aggregate driver that makes the multiple devices appear as a single device to the system.

So maybe it just works with the AP cards not the firewire interfaces that use another driver...
well I just checked the m-audio web site and the driver/control panel for the firewire 410 shows 4 possible interfaces too!!! I can't tell for the 1814...

I don't believe using multiple 002r in PT LE will happen anytime soon...
