Default A TON of spike and errors with 12.8 9093/72
My system was very stable before. Now mixing a project is a real challenge.
Stops a lot with 9093/72/71 and all the lovely codes we've grown to know and hate.
Make a sound people! Let's hear your workarounds.

what buffer size(s) are you experiencing this with ????

Even just moving a send fader causes a freeze...

sounds like a Plugin is eating your system resources !!!

does it happen in a blank session with one track ??

have to done all the Toss PRef's and such ?? using the Pete Gates App ...

8 gb of Disk Cache is lot .. have you experimented with this as well .. maybe that is stealing resources away from your system and causing the Disk to not be accessed fast enough ..

It obviously doesn't happen on a small session with 1 track. This is a big mix session, but one I worked on before 12.8 and never froze.
I did toss everything. This is a new install with clean Sierra and PT HD 12.8

I'll try lowering the cache and see...

Lowered cache to 4GB. Was stable for a minute, but back to freezing. (9093)
mostly when I do fader rides, but not exclusively.

i would go back to a Plugin possibly being your issue .. are there any VI's or PLugins that need to retrieve samples .. a Convolution Verb or a heavy INstrument ..

just thinking out loud now ..

Also- GUI seems way more sluggish. When I ride the fader it's 'pauses' for a minute (the fader) then jumps quite a bit... (even when fine riding with Cmd.)

None. No VI's no IR's no samples.
