Default Select multiple Clips with CMD key not working

Hi,

I'm trying to select multiple clips (on one track but with a few clips in between). I haven't done this in a while and thought it works by clicking on the clips whilst pressing the CMD key (on Mac, latest PT11 on 10.8.4). The Help file says the same but nothing happens. It's either one or the other clip. Already restarted, tried PT10...same thing. Any idea what what might be wrong here?

EDIT: I'm talking about the Edit Window. CMD works with all other stuff. Just selecting multiple regions doesn't works as described.

Help file:

'Select multiple items that are not next to each other:

Press the Command key and click the items you want.'

Cheers,
Peter

You could use the Object Grabber.

When I use that it selects all Clips from the same source clip (including all crossfaded clips in between). Weird.

Even with the Object Grabbber and selecting the first clip and all other wanted clips each with shift-click ? That should do it.

Another way :
with the normal time grabber and
the clip list open (and sorted by time),
select first clip and shift-click the last clip in the edit window,
change to object grabber,
cmd-click the unwanted clips in the clip list,
choose in clip list menu : object select in edit window.

Actually, being able to click-the-first-clip-and-shift-click-the-last-clip in the edit window and then cmd-click the unwanted clips also in the edit window to exclude them from the selection would be a very good idea (for ideascale).

Yeah, I don't get to press Shift using the Object Grabber Tool...it selects everything from that block of clips. Same goes for the Clip List....if I select one of the individual clips...it still selects the who block of things.

Thanks for the ideas though!!

Just to be clear, the object grabber is the 3rd option down (drop down arrow for the Grabber/hand tool) the 1st being Time & the 2nd being separation.

Yes, that's correct. Doesn't work. It's like the mouse+CMD click option is disabled in the Edit Window.

Are there possibly any settings I can trash? Or might OSX have something to do with it? A setting I can change? The new mouse I bought a while ago (although I doubt that as my cabled mouse does the same and CMD+click works in mixer etc)/

Does the following work for you ?
Object grabber tool, place it slightly to the left of the first clip, and towards the bottom : the marque sign appears (the cross hair),
click in the empty space to the left of the clip (not the clip itself), and hold, and drag while holding slightly to the right of the most right clip, so now a big selection of clips is made, all outlined in yellow,
shift-click the clips, that shall not be in this selection,
should give you a selection of noncontiguous clips.

Cmd-clicking a clip to deselect it from a selection is not mentioned in the Ref Guide.
What "Help" file did you mention in your first post ? I do not believe, that this help file is in regard to selecting clips, rather, unfortunately, only for the clip list (or browser items / tracks / IO setup).
