Default Problem with automatic delay compensation

Hi,

I have some strange issue with ADC that I donīt know if itīs a bug in PT 11.0.2 or if it is something in my system that causes this.
I can say that it does not happen in the latest version of PT 10 though.

I don't know how to explain this in writing, so I recorded a video to show what is going on.
But unfortunately the quality of the video is bad, but I hope you can see the issue though.
I tried some free screen capture program but didn't get it to work so I just recorded the screen with a video cam.

It would be very good if someone else can try this to confirm if itīs a problem with PT 11 or in my system.

Here is the link to the video:

Regards,
Markus

Can't confirm because I don't currently have 11 installed, but pro tools automatically puts record enabled tracks into low latency mode as it assumes you want very little latency while recording. Looks like you found a bug where that is not disabled after you take the track out of record.

Markus, I'll try to duplicate this on my (mac) system. Out of curiosity what to you have your input buffer set to?

Is this an HD only feature? I'm not sure vanilla does that.

I usually have the buffer set to 128 samples, and that what it was set to when I made the video.
But changing it doesn't make any difference in this case.

Markus

Hmmm, not sure. I'm on 10 HD - perhaps check the manual?

You can check by right clicking on the delay compensation indicator in the mix window.

I didn't mention it in the video, I didn't want to make it too long, but setting track 2 to "Auto low latency off" does make the track play in sync as well as the other two workarounds I was mention in the video.

So you might be on to something with what you said in your first post

Regards
Markus

Dj- I was confused about the auto low latency. I do indeed have that feature...

Anyway, Markus- I did everything you did in the video and it's the same for me. lines up until I toggle record enable and then it's off until switching the output to inactive and back to active

I don't think itīs the same thing. I don't use cascading record tracks and it isn't a problem in PT 10.

So unless something have changed in PT 11 I don't think this is the problem.
But I actually did see that video and was testing it, and then discovered the problem Iīm having.

Regards
Markus

Thanks for testing and confirming!
At least I know something isn't wrong in my system then.

Markus
