Default Will 1622 IO still work?

I have a 1622 IO connected to my 192 IO. When I jump to PT9, will I lose the 1622 in TDM land? Or will it work as always...

Legacy Interfaces are not supported with PT 9

They didn't say that, they said they're not qualified. That's a big difference. If you look at page 69 of the reference guide there is a screenshot of the hardware setup page. It is clearly a shot from PT9 as it lists the aggregate IO at the bottom, but you can also see in the list a 96 IO with 888|20 attached.

OK, that's what I thought. People shouldn't panic before knowing all the facts.

There is very little under the hood that has changed between PT9 and PT8.5.

The way it was explained to me that it's really an authorization thing, PT no longer 'looks' for approved hardware to run, it's authorized via iLok from now on...

Huge! I really hope the 1622 IO and 192 play nice with it. Otherwise, I have to drop 10x the software cost to buy me 16 more ins, or sell my 192 and buy a different set of 32 ins.

That's a heck of a lot more stress than just upgrading and moving on with sessions.

Of course, I'll be beta-ing 9 for a long time before I trust it in session with paying customers.
