Default Issues with Windows Service Pack 2 for Digi 001?

I have an old digi 001 and I built a computer with all the appropriate specs just so I could use this piece of hardware and access my old files. Everything was running fine, I was using version 6.4.0.138 of the software. Yesterday, I needed to install Adobe CS3, which prompted me to upgrade to Windows Service Pack 2. I did so, and now whenever I launch PT LE, Windows immediately shuts down and I see a blue screen with white text (not up for long enough to actually read it), and then the computer shuts down.

Any suggestions? Is there a compatibility problem with SP2 and PT LE or digi 001? Thanks much! - Jon

Yes.

You need to:
  1. install the 6.4cs6 update
  2. install the 6.4cs9 update
  3. install the latest PACE drivers from www.paceap.com

You need to download the latest PACE drivers and should also make sure yourrunning Pro Tools 6.4cs9 and havee run the 6.4cs6 plugin updater.

Should solve your problem. The biggie is the Pace driver and you should be up to date with the cs9 and cs6 plugin updates.

EDIT: Beat by SPK, again, That does it I'm gonna go take typing lessons

Thanks much guys! I'll install as soon as I can. A quick question: what are the pace drivers for? The website is listed as PACE Anti-Piracy products. Just a little curious as to what that has to do with Digidesign audio software updates... Thanks again! - Jon

PACE anti-piracy is the technology that Digidesign uses for authorization of the Pro Tools software and plugins. When you run Pro Tools, Pro Tools uses the PACE drivers to authenticate the Authorization code you originally entered and run Pro Tools. It also uses the PACE drivers to validate authorizations for paid plugins, but with the old authorization codes and with the iLok.

Older PACE drivers are not compatible with SP2, so you need to make sure you are up-to-date.
