Nope. I see I have a 2 channel 44100 file and when I copy it over it comes up as two separate mono tracks

What if you only add it instead of copy? Then consolidate in the session

I'm just guessing because I don't have PT10 at hand right now

Thanks for thinking about this Janne, but no, there seems to be no difference. Either I ADD or COPY both times I end up with two mono files in my PTHD 10.3.10 session. In the Clips list it shows as being a stereo file, but on the timeline they are two mono tracks. The system adds A1 and A2 to the filenames. This happens when I import audio thru File > Import > Audio...

But then I tried something I never do, I just dragged the stereo audio file from Finder to Edit window and now the automatically created track in PT is stereo!

I NEVER drag and drop any audio into session like that, but looks like this is the only workaround in this situation.

Looks like a bug to me to be honest.

Looks similar to what's reported in this thread

Kristo.
I have noticed the same behavior. Too bad because I like the Import Audio dialogue particularly as a means to audition through the Avid hardware. Now, once auditioned, I need to back out and drag the file to my session. Good point to make!
