I must say that I can't remember the exact steps, however just look around, the iLok site it is also trouble some to find stuff. I am not sure if I did it or iLok did it for me. The issue which I have is that Avid site gave me the wrong info. If it did say iLok ID then I would have know where to start looking, and not on the info the Avid explained to me.

Just request them to send you your ID, then use that mail address to ask them to reset you iLok ID........I could not find any e-mail support on the iLok site, for that matter Avid do not have it either.

It must be the iLok user ID name that you use to log in to your iLok account.

My login details and my iLok ID is not the same so I am sure in many cases other users would be the same.

Really?

I never had a choice in the matter. The account name has always been the same as the account ID, and there's certainly no manual way to change it.

Your iLok login name and your iLok user ID are the exact same thing.
It's just different ways of saying the same thing.
When you go to iLok.com, the name/ID you use to login (right above where you put in your password) is your user ID/login name. That's the info needed when Avid asks for your iLok ID.

I am aware of what the iLok ID actually means. I had to create my account at iLok.com in order to register, and I was thinking that because I JUST created the account, that is why it won't work. however, it's still giving the same error.

for my 002, I bought it off ebay around 4 years ago and I don't think I ever registered it. what can I do about this? I don't know how to register the box on Avid's site. could this be my error?

Ok. its definitely 002 related. my mom has an mbox 2 (yeah i know .. its kinda funny), and i used the SN for that and I got the registration to work. I'm going to pursue the issue of why my 002 isn't working and I'll let everyone know.
