Default Project mix problem

I'm running a Project Mix with Pro Tools M-Powered 7.3.1 on a Intel IMac, my i/o's are working but i cant get any of the hardware eg. Faders, locate, zoom etc. working. Pro Tools is seeing my Project Mix in Hardware Setup. I don't think it's a hardware problem because the Project Mix works fine when i plug it back into my PC using Logic Platinum...
It's got me stumped... Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

First off make sure the Project Mix I/O is in Pro Tools mode. (Aux1 when powering it on, it will retain this setting). If it is in PT Mode, go into Hardware Setup -> Peripherals -> Midi Controllers, under type select HUI, for both "receive from" and "send to" select ProjectMix I/O Control. This should solve the issue.

Thanks Brad but i have already tried that and still no luck?. Earlier today i downloaded the firmware for 10.4.8 from the m-audio site, as before i had d/loaded 10.4.6-Intel thinking that was the latest version for the Intel Macs but my supplier recommended i get 10.4.8 as that is the version i am using. So i installed the new drivers, shut down, re-booted and still no luck!

There must be something i am missing?

Does the ProjectMix show-up in the MIDI (AMS) panel? If not then that would be a problem, go through the procedure in the PT "getting started" guide to configure the ProjectMix as a MIDI device. Once you have done that and it shows up in the list of midi devices within selectable list of devices you can configure HUI, which you must do order for it to work properly.

Yeah it shows up under the Audio devices tab but not under the midi devices tab. If i go to configure device all it does is pop up with the project mix interface? Also this might sound lame but i cant find the getting started guide, only the reference guide and menus guide?

Here's the on-line version; http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor..._v73_32997.pdf

Go to the AMS part and configure the projectMix I/O as a midi device, it should then show-up in your list of midi device (you know the rest).

It's good that it shows up as an audio device (we know the driver is working properly) however since the projectMix I/O uses Mackie HUI protocol, the MIDI side of it needs to be configured in order for the faders, knobs, etc... to work.

Let me know if this does/doesn't work.

So in order to configure it i need to add it to the Digidesign Device List? Is that correct?, because there is no M-audio under the manufacturers list. The GS guide says you can type in a manufacturer (when in AMS external device properties) if the one your after is not listed, so i did this according to GS guide, re-booted and then looked back in Peripherals but there is still no option for the ProjectMix under "type".

So if i do need to add it to the list then how do i go about it? I mean i wouldn't know exactly what to type in and where?

Man it cant be this hard? After all this an M-Powered version of PT so why wouldn't there be M-audio listed under the manufacturers list?

'Type' is "HUI", 'send to' and 'recieve from' is ProjectMix Control.

When you're in AMS, the project Mix I/O doesn't show-up as a midi interface already? (AMS should be able to find this automatically).

I am currently at my day job (which unfortunately takes me away from my rig), when I get home tonight I will let you know exactly how mine is configured.

Sorry i meant there is no option for ProjectMix under send to or recieve from.
And no AMS does not Automatically see it, so according to the GS guide you can add a device through the drop down menu, and if your device manufacturer is not listed you can type your own in, which i did but still it does not see it in Peripherals. Thats when it says you can edit the DigDesign Device List using Text Edit but i dont know exactly what to type in and where.

I noticed on the M-audio site that it says not to use an external power supply when using a Mac, but my ProjectMix will not power up without it... maybe this is a problem?
