Mixes at 5.1 surround

Our studio is about to be converted to 5.1surround. A technical questiont about what kind of a setup do we need.
We are currently runing Mac G4800, Mix plus and converting to HD in a couple of days.
The boards are 2AmecBig. Pair of Genelec 1034, and 1031.
So far I know that we will need couple more speakers and maybe a subwoofer.

The room is not going to get redone.
Do I need some special extra gear for that?
I appologize if this is a sily question to somebody.

Our studio is 5.1 and we're using the Digi ProControl. Other than the speakers, we invested in a good surround sound monitoring system. We chose the Emax from Martin Sound. Great box, but pricey. The ProControls monitoring system just didn't cut it for 5.1 mixing.

Do you need a separate monitoring system and which kind? Whatch is acontrol surface for a 5.1 spekers other that a Pro Tools mixer. Do speakers have to be connected through a sumokind of summing amp
